Breckenridge does a great job at preparing and dealing with natural disasters and crises in the town by planning procedures in place to deal with disasters or crises that may impact the town or the visitors. One way that the BRC deals with these problems is by collaborating with local emergency management agencies and other community partners. This includes Breckenridge Police Department, Summit County Emergency Management, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, and other organizations that can aid during an emergency. The BRC does a great job at using various communication channels to keep visitors informed during a crisis. These channels include social media, email newsletters, and other online platforms. The BRC also has a dedicated phone line that visitors can call to get information about the status of events, attractions, and if worse comes to worse, information on what to do during a case of emergency.
